Ally McKeehan
River Guide
Ever since Allison was a child growing up near Portland Oregon you could find her outside, content in nature. She finds great satisfaction in recycling, conservation, planetary awareness and planning for a sustainable future, (this runs in the family). She has always held an insatiable amount of energy for her favorite activities. Growing up Ally Cat loved swimming, martial arts and eating all the butter, when her mom was doing yard work.
In her late teens she was introduced to her first adrenaline sport, snowboarding. This quickly consumed her free time and molded her adult life. During College Rally Ally’s favorite classes were trampoline maneuvers, rock climbing, outdoor recreation, snowboarding, down hill skateboarding, pottery, and meditation. Her outdoor recreation teacher soon became her kayaking teacher. After earning an Oregon state massage therapy license, she moved to Jackson hole Wyoming to snowboard the famous tram for the winter of 2005/06. That spring she bought her first white water kayak, drawn in by the focus required and high rewards. She began guiding in 2017 when she realized she was insatiable and would never get enough river time while keeping a steady job. She realized the only way to get enough river time would be to incorporate it as her next profession. She has now guided in the deserts of Utah & at the headwaters of the snake river and near its confluence. Ally has guided glacial fed rivers in Denali Park for several years; yet she is drawn home again and again to the expansive natural beauty of the Wild West and the breath taking, immersive multi day adventures that make this area so unique.
